Dedicated to Public & Foundation Stone Laid for Development Works of worth Rs. 300 crore
Jaipur, August 19. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has said that the State Government did not leave any stone unturned to save the life of people and to meet the challenge that came before the livelihood. The Government did this along with fulfilling its pledge ‘No One Sleeps Hungry’ during the time of corona infection. He said, “We will make all possible efforts so that no one succumbs to corona in the State, for which our focus is on conducting more and more tests.” The objective of the State Government is to make Rajasthan front runner in the entire country in the health sector.
Shri Gehlot was addressing after laying the foundation stone and dedicating medical institutions to the public virtually on Wednesday. The total 29 buildings of the medical education department were dedicated to public and foundation stone of 8 construction works was laid. The total cost of all these works is Rs. 300 crores approximately.
Stress on Developing Facilities at Government Hospitals
Shri Gehlot said, “It is our dream that no person should go outside the State to get treatment. During our previous tenure, Free Medicine and Free Diagnostics Schemes were started to strengthen the health infrastructure.” He said that there was zero testing facility in the State when corona infection started, but today a facility to conduct more than 40,000 tests per day has been developed, which will further touch 50,000 tests daily. He said that the State has succeeded in treating 50 patients through Plasma Therapy. Shri Gehlot said that 15 districts in the last one year have got medical colleges and the State will have 31 medical colleges in the Government sector. “Our intention is to establish medical colleges in every district. We laid emphasis on developing facilities in Government Hospitals while fighting the corona infection. Our focus is on increasing the equipment and medical facilities at primary health centres, community health centres and district hospitals,” he added.
Rajasthan is better placed in all parameters compared to other States
The Chief Minister said, “Rajasthan has moved ahead considerably in the medical field. Our management to fight corona was praised in the entire country. We kept the mortality rate due to corona under control and performed better in all parameters compared to other States.” Shri Gehlot said that there was complete support from public representatives of all parties, religious leaders, social workers, philanthropists, government machinery and the general public in this fight with corona. The government had provided relief by transferring Rs. 3500 in the accounts of poor, helpless and needy people.
Wear Mask and Maintain Social Distancing
Shri Gehlot giving the message of ‘one should take care of one’s health’ appealed to the general public not to be careless, not to gather crowds, wear masks and follow social distancing.
Recruitment Process of 6,310 CHOS soon
Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that facilities at medical colleges in the State are being developed to fight the challenge of corona infection. Plasma Bank has been set up at Kota and Jaipur and people are being inspired to donate plasma. More than 750 Mobile OPD Vans are being operated in the State. He said the Government in the last one and a half years has recruited 12,500 nursing personnel and 765 doctors. The recruitment of 2,000 doctors is in its final stage. The process to recruit 6,310 CHOS will start soon.
Facilities will be Developed in Medical Colleges
Minister of State for Health Dr Subhash Garg said that remarkable work has been done in the last one and a half years in strengthening the health structures in the State. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has issued an additional amount of Rs 819 crore for the seven medical colleges, which will be used in developing various facilities in these medical colleges and hospitals attached to them.
In the beginning of the video conference, Medical Education Secretary Shri Vaibhav Galriya said that in the last one year the department has set many dimensions. He said that the medical colleges got 961 additional seats for post graduation courses, of which the admission process for 806 seats will start soon. There is an increase of 650 seats in graduation.
Energy and PHED Minister Dr. BD Kalla was present in the programme. Cooperative Minister Shri Udai Lal Anjana, Forest and Environment Minister Shri Sukhram Vishnoi, Minister of State for Labour Shri Tikaram Jully, Leader of Opposition in Assembly Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Deputy Leader of opposition Shri Rajendra Rathore, Former Union Minister Shri PP Chaudhary, Member of Parliament Jalore Shri Devji Patel, MP Shri Kanakmal Katara, other MPs and MLAs and public representatives of various parties were connected through video conference. Health department officers and doctors from 20 districts were connected through VC.
