On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Lal Bahadur Shastri ji, BJP Mahila Morcha, Jammu & Kashmir, under the dynamic leadership of Adv. Neha Mahajan, President BJP Mahila Morcha JKUT, organised a special programme at Khadi Gram Udyog, Residency Road (Opposite Dak Bunglow).
The event witnessed spirited participation of Mahila Morcha members and karyakartas, who wholeheartedly promoted the purchase of Khadi as a proud symbol of Swadeshi and self-reliance, echoing the timeless vision of Mahatma Gandhi ji.
Floral tributes were offered to Mahatma Gandhi ji and Lal Bahadur Shastri ji, recalling their supreme sacrifices and contribution to freedom, simplicity, and nation-building. The team further strengthened the call for “Vocal for Local” by purchasing Khadi products, thereby extending support to local artisans and weavers.
Addressing the gathering, Adv. Neha Mahajan said, “Khadi is not merely a fabric, it is a movement, an ideology, and a mission. It represents the strength of our people, the power of simplicity, and the resolve of nationalism. By embracing Khadi, we are not just wearing cloth, we are wearing the soul of India.”
She further added, “Lal Bahadur Shastri ji’s eternal slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ continues to guide us. His life of honesty, simplicity, and sacrifice inspires us to live for the nation. BJP Mahila Morcha is committed to taking this spirit to every home, every village, and every woman of J&K.”
Importantly, Adv. Neha Mahajan appealed not only to the karyakartas but also to the citizens present at the event to make Swadeshi a way of life. She urged, “Atmanirbhar Bharat cannot be achieved by government efforts alone — every Indian must contribute. We must inspire our children to value self-reliance and make it part of their character. Only then will the dream of a strong, self-sufficient India be fulfilled.”
The programme concluded with an oath by Mahila Morcha karyakartas and citizens to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s vision of building a new India through Swadeshi, women empowerment, and collective strength. The event resonated with patriotic slogans of “BJP Mahila Morcha Zindabad, Mahatma Gandhi ji Amar Rahe, Lal Bahadur Shastri ji Amar Rahe, and Modi ji ke Sapno ka Bharat – Atmanirbhar Bharat Zindabad.”
