Kuldeep Dhaliwal’s Strong Worded Attack on Randhawa, Says, He’s Praising Captain to Pave a Way to Join BJP

Power-hungry Captain and Randhawa Both Go Back on Their Own Statements: Pannu
Elections Concluded Peacefully; False Propaganda of Opponents Exposed: Dhaliwal

Amritsar/Chandigarh, December 15, 2025

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab’s Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal thanked the people of Punjab for the peaceful conclusion of the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections in the state.

Addressing a press conference along with Amritsar (Urban) District President Prabhbir Singh Brar, Dhaliwal said that yesterday (Dec 14th), the people of Punjab cast their votes in a very calm and peaceful manner, giving a befitting reply to the false propaganda being spread by the opposition, which claimed that democracy was being crushed or ballot papers were being looted. He said that out of more than twelve and a half thousand villages in Punjab, barring a few isolated places, the election process across the state remained peaceful.

Responding to Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa’s recent praise of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Dhaliwal said that Randhawa’s statement is an attempt to pave the way for joining the BJP.

Dhaliwal said that Randhawa’s sudden praise of Captain Amarinder Singh raises several serious questions. He asked that when Captain was removed from the Chief Minister’s post in 2021, it was Sukhjinder Randhawa himself who was at the forefront accusing Captain of failing to break the backbone of drug trafficking despite taking an oath on Gutka Sahib, and of not delivering on the promise of jobs for every household. Dhaliwal said that today Randhawa must clarify whether Captain was right then or is right now. In reality, both Randhawa and Captain are people who do not stand by their own words.

Dhaliwal claimed that Sukhjinder Randhawa’s statements clearly indicate that he wants to sink the Congress party and join the BJP. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh’s family has a history of always aligning himself with those in power, whether it was during the Mughal era, the British era, the Congress era, or now the BJP. The Captain’s family, he said, cannot survive without power.

The AAP leader said that the people of Punjab understand these opportunistic leaders very well. Just as the people rejected the Congress in 2022, its condition will be even worse in the coming times. He said that leaders like Sukhjinder Randhawa, who themselves were once in the race to become Chief Minister, are now trying to secure their political future by building links with the senior leadership of the BJP. However, Punjabis will no longer fall for their tactics.
