Arora said that there was no doubt about the fact that by enacting anti-farmer black laws, the Union Government was hell bent on breaking the backbone of farmers, agricultural laborers, landlords, bookkeepers, ‘arhtiyas’, small-time shopkeepers and, besides hitting hard the rural economy.
The Sunam MLA said that the peaceful protest being staged across the state by various farmers’ organizations against the draconian anti-farmer laws was within their legitimate right to he heard. At the same time, Arora said, the irrational and irresponsible statements being issued by Amarinder Singh was nothing but a move to malign the image of the state farmers.
Arora had a piece advisory for chief minister Amarinder Singh, saying that he should refrain from making such false and frivolous statements to cover up his colossal failures over the promises ‘Raja Sahib’ had made to the people of Punjab ahead of assuming power in 2017, including addressing certain pressing issues and concerns of the people of Punjab had been wrestling with. He should focus on solving those problems instead of slandering the farmers in the state.
