Under the guidance of Sh. Atul Kasana, District & Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar in coordination with Sri Sukhmani College of Law, Dera Bassi organised a Legal Awareness Programme on The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

Ms. Surabhi Prashar apprised the faculty members, students and staff members regarding various provisions of The Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act and discussed about the guidelines given by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case of Vishakha and others v. State of Rajasthan.

She further discussed the significant ruling of the Hon’ble Supreme
Court of India in the case of Aureliano Fernandes v. State of Goa and Others in
which it was held that the principles of audi alterem partem could not have been
thrown to the winds in this cavalier manner.

Ms. Surabhi Prashar was welcomed by Prof. Rashpal Singh Chief Admn Officer, Dr. G N Verma, Principal SSIET &  Dr. Ravinder Grover Principal SSCL.

The event commenced with a warm opening address by Ms. Aayushi Sharma, Head of Department, Sri Sukhmani College of Law, who emphasized the relevance of such awareness programs in educational institutions and thanked Ms. Prashar for her presence and contribution
