Dushyant Chautala directs representatives of Panchayati Raj to get trained in modern technology
Chandigarh, December 10: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala directed the Chief Executive Officers of the state’s Development and Panchayats Department to train representatives of the Panchayati Raj in modern information technology to keep them updated. He also directed to computerize the accounts of the panchayats after the general elections of the gram panchayats so that misuse of panchayat funds could be prevented and transparency is maintained in the works.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing officers of Haryana Development and Panchayats Department online after virtually inaugurating the ‘District Panchayat Resource Centres’ from Chandigarh here today. Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Sudhir Rajpal, Director, Rural Development Department, Hardeep Singh and Director, Haryana Rural Development Institute, RK Mehta attended the programme organized by Haryana Development and Panchayats Department under the auspices of Haryana Rural Development Institute, Neelokheri, from Chandigarh while the Chief Executive Officers appointed in all the District Councils of the state attended online.
Dushyant Chautala directed the officers of the department to organize a training programme on the occasion of Good Governance Day, on 25 December 2020, at the ‘District Panchayat Resource Centres’, which were inaugurated today. He hoped that these ‘District Panchayat Resource Centres’ will give a new direction to rural development in the state.
Dushyant Chautala also directed to set up one library each in all the ‘District Panchayat Resource Centres’ on the suggestion of the Chief Executive Officers of the Zila Parishads, and the Haryana Rural Development Institute to appoint two master trainers in each district.
On this occasion, Sudhir Rajpal gave detailed information about the purpose of starting ‘District Panchayat Resource Centres’ and said that this will encourage the activities of training of elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions. A training hall, computer-lab, 3 to 4 rooms for seating of staff have been made in these centres, he added. He said that one Principal each working in the District Research and Training Centres of the Education Department has been additionally appointed as the District Training Coordinator in the District Panchayat Resource Centres.
