State Vigilance Bureau arrests J.E., Lineman and A.L.M. of DHBVN for accepting bribe
Chandigarh December 31: The State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana has arrested J.E., Lineman and A.L.M. of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000.
Sharing more details, a spokesman of the Bureau said that Kanval Singh, J.E., Satpal, Lineman and Rohit Kumar, A.L.M. of DHBVN were caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000 from Mr. Hemant Kumar, resident of village Manethi, District Rewari.
The spokesman said that Hemant Kumar had informed the State vigilance Bureau that Kanval Singh, J.E. and Satpal, Lineman posted in DHBVN, Pali Gothra along with other officials of department conducted a raid on his and his uncle’s house regarding theft of electricity and seized their electricity meters. The lineman Satpal demanded Rs. 20,000 in lieu of returning the meters and to save them from any action regarding electricity theft. The lineman Satpal also threatened them that if the demand is not fulfilled, a criminal case of electricity theft will be registered against them.
On receiving the above information, a case under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered in State vigilance Bureau, Gurugram and a team headed by Inspector Suresh Kumar was constituted.
The spokesman said that Rajesh Kumar Yadav, XEN, Irrigation Department was appointed as Duty Magistrate. In the presence of Duty Magistrate and shadow witness, Kanval Singh, J.E., Satpal, Lineman and Rohit Kumar, A.L.M. have been arrested by the Vigilance Team while accepting the said bribe amount from complainant Hemant Kumar. The accused are being interrogated. The investigation of case is in progress.
