Feroz Khan takes stock of COVID-19 SOPs implementation in schools
KARGIL, APRIL 01, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today visited different schools of Kargil zone including Government High School Minji to take stock of the implementation of COVID-19 SOPs and Covid Appropriate Behaviors (CABs) like wearing of masks and measures of social distancing.
The visit of the CEC assumes significance considering the safety of students in view of the recent spike of COVID-19 cases in different parts of the country.
Chief Education Officer, Kargil Nazir Ahmad Wani accompanied the CEC during the visit.
During the course of visit, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan directed the teachers and concerned officials to take all necessary measures for proper implementation of COVID-19 SOPs including the wearing of masks, hand washing and social distancing.
CEC Khan directed that students with symptoms of fever should not be permitted to enter the school, adding that same should be applied in case of students without wearing masks. He also instructed the students to ensure proper social distancing and usage of masks and asked them not to come school if they have any symptoms of cold or fever.
The CEC stressed that it shall be the responsibility of the school authorities to implement all necessary COVID-19 mitigation measures and protocols in letter and spirit.
Meanwhile, CEC Feroz Khan during his visit to the schools also enquired about the infrastructural requirements and other needs of these institutions.
The officials of Government Middle School Minji demanded for allocation of separate entry gate to the school campus and compound walling and sanitation facilities while Government Middle School Minji Gond projected demand for drinking water supply.
Responding to the demands, the CEC assured that all necessary measures will be taken for resolution of the issues in a phased manner.
