Chandigarh, August 17 – Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mr. Anil Vij has directed the officers of the Department to prepare a proposal for giving risk allowance to the Safai Karamcharis.

        During a meeting with the officers and representatives of the Safai Karamchari Union, Mr. Vij said that Safai Karamcharis are the backbone of every society. The Union met the Minister regarding their demands today. The Minister assured the Safai Karamcharis that he would consider their demands sympathetically.

        The minister said that in view of Corona if any safai karamchari passes away due to Corona virus while on duty then he will be given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh. He further added that Haryana is among the few states to provide such compensation. The Union has put up several demands such as to close liquor vends, abolish diminishing cadre etc.

        In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. S.N. Roy, Director General, Urban Local Bodies, Mr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, President of Union, Mr. Rajender, General Secretary, Mr. Mange Ram Tigra and other officers were present.
