Chandigarh, August 20 – During the agitation against Agriculture Bills in Haryana, 136 First Information Reports have been registered till date against the farmers/protesters. Apart from this, 2 First Information Reports have been registered against the farmers in the State under Section 124-A of the IPC relating to sedition.

This information was given by Home Minister Anil Vij in a written reply laid on the Table of the House during the ongoing session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.

He said that on the basis of the statement of the complainant, 2 First Information Reports have been registered in the State under Section 124-A of the IPC. A case was registered on July 11, 2021 Police Station Civil Lines, Sirsa under Section 124-A, and the statement of complaint was recorded by the Duty Magistrate, according to which the agitating farmers attacked the convoy of Deputy Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha. Another case was registered on January 15, 2021 in Police Station Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar under Section 124-A of the IPC. This Section has been invoked on the accused, Sh. Sunil Gulia for uploading a video on social media in which he vowed that if the government did not pay heed to the protesting farmers, he would attack the Government with cannon.
