Said no justice can be expected from the AAP government
Alleged that Congress MPs, who earlier demanded a CBI probe, are now backing out under pressure from the Chief Minister
Said the struggle will continue until justice is delivered

The delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party, under the leadership of Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar, met Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and demanded a CBI investigation into the alleged suicide case of DM Gagandeep Singh Randhawa.
Speaking to the media, Sunil Jakhar said that when ministers of the government themselves are facing allegations, how can one expect a fair investigation from that government. He added that the deceased’s family and the people of Punjab are demanding a CBI probe to ensure justice.
He said that while the people of Punjab are fighting for justice, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is busy campaigning in Gujarat for his party leadership, reflecting the government’s lack of sensitivity. He also questioned how justice can be expected when senior officials like the Chief Secretary and DGP are seen participating in political activities at a rally in Moga. He said this is why the party approached the Governor demanding a CBI probe.
Jakhar stated that the opposition plays an important role in a democracy, but in Punjab, Congress appears as if it is functioning under the influence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
He said that Congress MPs had earlier demanded a CBI inquiry in Parliament, but when Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked them to submit a written request, some Congress MPs backed out under pressure from the Chief Minister. He said this shows how Congress has surrendered before the AAP government.
He further said that although the Union Home Minister asked Punjab MPs to submit requests for a CBI probe, three Congress MPs have still not done so. He alleged that Congress leaders are aligned with AAP and are silent even in such a sensitive case, where a promising officer lost his life.
He added that after pressure from the Chief Minister, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring is now fully echoing the stance of the AAP government.
Responding to another question, Jakhar said that if the Chief Minister believes that a case related to Raja Warring from Faridkot was not investigated by the CBI, then why doesn’t the Chief Minister that case also to the agency along with the Randhawa case.
He concluded by saying that BJP is fighting this battle for justice with full determination and will appeal to all elected representatives to write to authorities demanding a CBI probe. He emphasized that the struggle will continue until justice is served.
Delegation included Working State President Ashwani Sharma, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Som Prakash, Tikshan Sood, Manpreet Singh Badal, Keval Singh Dhillon, Jangi Lal Mahajan, Dinesh Singh Babbu, Jeevan Gupta, Sarabdeep Singh Virk, Anil Sareen, Parminder Singh Brar, Harvinder Singh Sandhu, Harjeet Singh, Amarpal Singh Boni, Rajbir Sharma, and Vineet Joshi.
