The spirit of “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” is visibly alive in Fazilka district, situated on the India-Pakistan international border. While the brave Border Security Force (BSF) personnel stand vigilant to safeguard the borders, the farmers of the district are fulfilling their duty by cultivating crops right up to the zero line, thereby contributing significantly to the nation’s food security.
The deep-rooted patriotism of residents in these border villages is evident in their unwavering trust in the BSF. Villagers express their heartfelt gratitude to the force, saying, “When BSF is at the border, there is nothing to fear.”
There exists a strong and harmonious coordination between the border residents and BSF personnel. This mutual trust stems from the unwavering assurance provided by the BSF that no threat from across the western border can breach Indian territory. The villagers firmly believe that the presence of the BSF is a guarantee of their safety and security.
Following recent tensions along the Pakistan border, the situation has now returned to normal. Farmers have resumed their agricultural activities. Men are busy preparing fields for the Kharif season and paddy transplantation, while women are engaged in household chores and caring for livestock.

Inquilab Gill of Pakka Chishti noted that the inspiring presence of BSF motivates the youth in these border villages to aspire for a career in the armed forces and BSF.
Krishan Kumar from Ganjuaana village reported that farmers are fearlessly preparing their fields for the next crop. Life has returned to normal, and there is a sense of relief and security among the people, thanks to the relentless efforts of the BSF soldiers who safeguard the borders day and night.
