Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the achievements of young players of the state in the Asiad and Olympic Games are commendable. The state government will consider and implement all suggestions and proposals in letter and spirit to promote various sports and players, through better management. Coaches will also be eligible for promotion like normal teachers. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that sport is also a part of the curriculum in the new education policy.All efforts will be made to encourage budding players. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was addressing the National Youth Day programme at Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Center (Minto Hall). Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended his best wishes and congratulated all the players and coaches who received the awards.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that sports is a part of Indian culture. Swami Vivekananda considered sports an essential activity for the youth. He presented this view at the Vishwa Dharma Sammelan (World conference of all religions) in Chicago at a time when India was known as a country of conservative people and snake charmers. The reality is that Indian culture is mightier than the Himalayas. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, we are reaching towards Gaganyaan from Chandrayaan. Our Yaans are now reaching the Sun. The 21st century will belong to India, this is no wild imagination.
Describing the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya as a glorious work, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lord Ram was an ideal son, an ideal father and an ideal ruler. He had respect for nature. He had love towards Vanvasis, human beings and wild animals alike. While Swami Vivekananda propagated Indian culture in the world, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is leaving an indelible mark with each of his action. He ensured doses of Covid vaccines not only for his country but also to other countries in order to save mankind. Recently he made his trip to Lakshadweep historic. Immense possibilities of tourism can now be witnessed here. This month itself, people visiting other countries of the world have canceled their trips to visit Lakshadweep.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honoured young entrepreneurs for their excellent work in various fields. The youth who were felicitated include National Youth Awardee Sakshi Bhardwaj, Ninad Adhikari awarded by Akashvani for Santoor Vadan, Ishaan Shukla in the field of writing and Deepanshi Vajpayee in the field of craftsmanship. Medal winning players and coaches of international competitions were also honoured in the programme. Among these players, Arjun awardee for Para-canoeing, Prachi Yadav was given Rs 1 crore 50 lakh and gold medalist in horse riding in Asian Games 2023 Sudipti Hajela was awarded a prize money of Rs 1 crore.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented prize money of Rs 50 lakh each to three silver medalists of Asian Games 2023, Neha Thakur (Sailing), Preeti Rajak (Shooting) and Kapil Parmar (Judo). Five other players were given a prize money of Rs 25 lakh each. These include Shri Dronacharya Awardee Shivendra Singh (hockey) and four bronze medal winners of Asian Games 2023.
Players who won bronze medals include Arjun Singh (Kayaking-Canoeing), Manish Kaurav (Para Canoe), Rubina Francis (Para Shooting) and Gajendra Singh (Para Canoe). Arjun awardee in Hockey Sushila Chanu was also given a memento. Many former international level players and coaches including Shri Dalveer Singh, Sameer Dad, Shivendra Singh, Manoj Jha, P.N. Prakash, Bhagwan Singh etc. were present in the programme.
Prime Minister’s address
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and other guests listened to the address given by Prime Minister Shri Modi at the National Youth Day programme in Nashik at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that today the youth are playing the role of leaders. India is a country of the youth. It has a youthful mood and style. The use of mobile data in India has been like a revolution. In this Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav we have to move forward while working in many areas. Our youth will have to take up new challenges. India will soon be the third largest economy in the world. Today the target is to be achieved in the field of climate change and natural farming. The importance of Ayurveda and Yoga is increasing. We have been successful in bringing coarse grains i.e. Shree Anna to the kitchens of India in the form of super food. On this occasion, Prime Minister Shri Modi appealed to the youth to give up drug addiction. ‘Fulfill your resolutions to the best of your ability’, he said.
Nimari folk artists gave a musical performance on Youth Day in the meeting hall of Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Centre. Balkrishna folk artists from Barwani district of Nimar region presented folk songs.
Group of youngsters under Maa Tujhe Pranam Yojana flagged off
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav flagged off the vehicles of a group of youth who are going on a tour to Kevadiya in Gujarat under the Maa Tujhe Pranam Yojana. 125 girls are included in the scheme. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also got a group photograph taken with the youth of VLCC, an international organization working in the field of health and beauty. It was informed in the programme that the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare is also providing employment oriented training to the youth.
Sports and Youth Welfare and Cooperatives Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang said that the Swami Vivekananda’s birthday is being celebrated as Youth Day. Indian philosophy, culture and ideology serve to guide the world. Swami Vivekananda, in his address at the Dharma Sabha in Chicago, removed the misconceptions prevalent in the minds of people of other countries about India. Swami Vivekananda lived only 39 years, but he brought India on the world map. The direction he gave to the entire Indian society serves as a catalyst. Swamiji believed that it is necessary for the youth to be strong in body, mind and soul. Minister Shri Sarang said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is becoming a leader in the world.
At the outset, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and other guests paid floral tributes at the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and lit the lamp. Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association President Shri Ramesh Mendola, Secretary Olympic Association Digvijay ji were present in the programme. Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Smita Bhardwaj also addressed the gathering. Director Sports Shri Ravi Gupta welcomed the guests. The programme was conducted by Shri Padam Bhandari.
