Anjuman-e-Sahib Zaman Ladakh, through its Hussaini Health Care and Research Centre, organised a Mega Health Camp and Free Cancer Screening Camp at Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo in collaboration with Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Noida Extension.
Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by President Anjuman-e-Sahib Zaman Ladakh, Shaikh Sadiq Balaghee; Vice President, Syed Ahmad Rizvi; doctors and cancer specialists from Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital; Hon’ble Councillor Parkachik, Agha Anul Huda; Hon’ble Councillor Lankarchey, Ghulam Haider; Chief Medical Officer Kargil; Block Medical Officer Sankoo; doctors of CHC Sankoo; ASHA workers, and a large gathering of patients from the region.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon expressed gratitude to the doctors and specialists from Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital for their dedication and service to the people of Kargil. He also appreciated Anjuman-e-Sahib Zaman Ladakh for its consistent social service and commitment towards the welfare of poor and needy sections of society.
Recalling his own experiences from the 1990s, the CEC highlighted the exemplary dedication of doctors of that time, who served with honesty and perseverance despite lack of road connectivity, often marching on foot to provide healthcare in far-flung areas. He emphasised the importance of health awareness and encouraged the people of Sankoo block to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
As President of Hussaini Health Care and Research Centre, which functions under the banner of Anjuman-e-Sahib Zaman Ladakh, Dr. Akhoon urged the management of Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital to extend continued support to economically weaker patients of Kargil in the future. He also extended words of appreciation to Baseej-e-Baqiyatullah for their tireless social work in the region.
Reiterating LAHDC Kargil’s commitment to public welfare, the CEC announced that an ₹8 crore CT Scan Machine has been sanctioned and installed at CHC Sankoo, addressing a long-standing demand of the people. He also informed that the issue of doctor vacancies has been resolved, thereby strengthening healthcare facilities in the region.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Akhoon visited the newly established CT Scan Room at CHC Sankoo.
