Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir organized a special felicitation programme at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The event recognized and celebrated the courage, determination, and achievements of more than 70 Divyang Jan (specially-abled persons) who have made a positive impact in various walks of life.
This felicitation programme was coordinated by J&K BJP Vice-President Priya Sethi, and was organized as a part of the series of activities under Seva Pakhwada being observed to mark the 75th birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to inclusive growth and social justice.
The programme was graced by J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, Rajya Sabha MP Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana, General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, MLA Ch. Vikram Randhawa, Dr. Himja Mengi, Adv. Rajesh Gupta, besides other senior leaders of the party.
On this occasion, Sham Singh Langeh, Chairman of the J&K Divyang Team, Zonal Head of the Divyang Cricket Control Board of India, and International Umpire, was specially honoured for his outstanding contribution to Divyang sports. Social activists Ashwani Jojra (Founder, SAHYOG INDIA) and Sandhya Dhar (Naari Shakti Awardee and Founder, Jigar Foundation) were also felicitated for their remarkable efforts in the field of social service and empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the specially-abled persons are not to be seen with sympathy but with respect. Their dignified contribution in every sphere of life is an inspiration for society. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, the government has worked consistently to ensure equal opportunities, accessibility, and empowerment for Divyang Jan. he stressed that their positive participation is crucial for building a strong, inclusive, and progressive India.
Ashok Koul emphasized that every citizen has a role in nation-building, and the achievements of specially-abled persons reflect extraordinary courage and determination. He termed them as an invaluable strength of our society, and the BJP remains committed to supporting their empowerment through sustained initiatives.
Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana highlighted how various flagship schemes and policies introduced by the Modi government, focusing on accessibility, employment, education, and social security have significantly uplifted the lives of Divyang Jan.
Priya Sethi stressed that the BJP is committed to the empowerment of every section of society and said that the party will remain committed to the welfare of the specially-abled for the 365 days in a year.
