BJP launches blood donation drive in Jammu to mark PM Modi’s birthday, emphasizes seva and service to humanity

J&K BJP today launched a massive blood donation campaign in Jammu & Kashmir to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, celebrating his lifelong commitment to service, humility, and dedication to the nation and society. The campaign also marks the beginning of the “Seva Pakhwada” (Service Fortnight) being observed from September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Modi, to October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

In Jammu region, the campaign was jointly led by J&K BJP President Sat Sharma (CA), Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition in J&K Assembly, and Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha). Senior leaders, MLAs, office bearers and activists enthusiastically participated across 11 organizational districts of Jammu region on the first day.

About 50 units of blood were donated in Kathua, 30 in Jammu, around 20 in Jammu South, 30 in Akhnoor, 26 in Rajouri, 50 in Poonch, 20 in Reasi, 40 in Udhampur, 10 in Ramban, 2 in Doda, and 20 in Kishtwar. The drive will continue in the coming days at the district and mandal levels to ensure maximum public participation.

Sat Sharma, addressing on the occasion, said that the true celebration of the birthday of our beloved Prime Minister Narendra Modi lies in serving humanity. He said that the Blood donation is the highest form of service because it gives life to the distressed, whether in cases of accidents, natural disasters like floods, or even war-like situations where blood is urgently needed. He said that the Prime Minister Modi has lived his entire life in humility and selfless service, and through Seva Pakhwada we want to instill the same spirit among our youth and society at large.

Sunil Sharma said that every drop of blood donated today will save lives tomorrow. He said that the culture of service is what strengthens our nation. He said that the initiative of Seva Pakhwada is not just symbolic, it is a reminder that each of us has a role to play in nation-building. He added that on the birthday of a leader who has dedicated himself tirelessly to the people, it is most befitting to engage in acts that directly benefit the needy and underprivileged.

Jugal Kishore Sharma also emphasized the significance of the campaign, saying that during regular as well as mass tragedies, be it accidents, earthquakes, or conflict situations, where blood is the first and foremost requirement to save lives. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, BJP is determined to create a culture of compassion, seva, and responsibility in every corner of the society, he said.

Earlier in the day, Sat Sharma also participated in a cleanliness drive at Goushala and Shree Radha Krishan Temple, Shakti Nagar, and visited Mata Bawe Wali Mandir to pray for the Prime Minister’s long and healthy life. He, along with BJP leaders, also distributed ration material to the needy at Satwari, furthering the spirit of service that marks the Seva Pakhwada.
