KARGIL, AUGUST 12, 2022:-
Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today while on way to Kargil from Zanskar visited Himling and Phey villages to inspect the developmental works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The CEC was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Chowdhary PHE officials, District Team Leader –JJM PMU besides other concerned officials.
CEC Khan along with the dignitaries visited Himling village in order to take an assessment of works undergoing in JJM scheme.
The CEC also undertook the assessment of JJM works at Pey village. He also inspected the tap water connections at both the villages.
To provide functional tap connections to each household, the Union Territory of Ladakh in general and the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in particular, has been at the forefront to provide drinking water to people through JJM, a Government of India scheme.
Through JJM, the administration has resolved to provide safe, adequate drinking water through individual tap connections even in sub-zero temperatures by 2022 in rural Ladakh.
