Chandigarh Tamil Sangam marked the vibrant Pongal celebration with a spectacular event held at Bharti Bhawan, Sector 30 Chandigarh. The esteemed occasion witnessed the presence of Sh. Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh, who graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Governor Purohit emphasized the significance of celebrating festivals like Pongal, stating that it helps transmit the cultural legacy to younger generations.He commended the organization’s role not only in cultural events but also in building and maintaining the City Beautiful. Having served as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, he lauded the incomparable contributions of Tamilians in the fields of medicine, law, and academics.
The celebration, organized by the Chandigarh Tamil Sangam, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu through a series of engaging activities. A cultural program, meticulously curated to highlight the essence of Tamil Nadu, was a central part of the festivities.
