Construction and repair work of new roads to be inaugurated across the state on September 20 Under ‘Seva Pakhwada’ – Ranbir Gangwa

Public Works Minister held meeting with officers from six different departments

Haryana Public Works Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, said that ‘Seva Pakhwada’ is being organised from September 17 to October 2, 2025, on the occasion of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s birthday. In this direction, on September 20, the Public Works Department, Urban Local Bodies Department, Development and Panchayat Department, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran, and HSIIDC will jointly inaugurate the construction of 75 new roads and major repair works of old roads across the state under their respective departments.

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa chaired a meeting yesterday evening with officers from various departments to discuss preparations related to ‘Seva Pakhwada’. He said that the Chief Minister will be the Chief Guest at one of the event locations on September 20, while other ministers, MPs, and MLAs will participate at various other locations across the state. 

Special Cleanliness drive to be run by PWD During ‘Seva Pakhwada’

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa also directed the officers to run a special campaign during ‘Seva Pakhwada’ for repairing roads damaged by rain. In addition, a special cleanliness campaign and tree plantation drive will be conducted in all rest houses, and beautification of all government hospital buildings will be undertaken.

He directed all concerned departments to identify the locations where the programmes will be held across the state on September 20 and send a detailed list of these locations to the office without fail. He also emphasised that the newly constructed roads should be made strong and that wherever patchwork is to be carried out, the road surface should be made level to avoid any inconvenience to commuters.

Sh. Gangwa further said that the condition of a state’s roads reflects its overall development. Therefore, it is essential for the state’s roads to be in good and strong condition.

Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department, Sh. Anurag Agarwal and senior officers from various departments were also present during the meeting.
