In a significant stride towards educational welfare and empowerment, the Bharatiya Janata Party SC Morcha, Punjab, is organizing the “Dalit Yuva Samwad” program on Wednesday, 7th February 2024, at Desh Bhagat University, Amloh, Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab. The initiative, designed to create awareness among young students, particularly those from Scheduled Castes, is aimed at maximizing the benefits of the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme for Dalit students pursuing higher education under the Government of India. The program shall commence with a thoughtful discussion on the scholarships received by various castes, other backward classes, and minority students.
In this regard, Paramjit Singh Kainth, Vice President of the BJP SC Morcha Punjab met with university officials today and the dialogue emphasized a joint program scheduled for 7th February 2024, aiming to pave the way for a meaningful and successful future for Dalit students. The meeting included Professor Virendra Singh, Advisor to Vice- Chancellor, Mr. Rajinder Pal Anand, Senior Vice President, Khatri Mahasabha Punjab, and Mr. Kamal Rakhra. In addition to the ongoing dialogue, a written proposal has been presented to various universities, including Desh Bhagat University, outlining the “Dalit Yuva Samwad” program.
This initiative seeks to address challenges during the admission period, ensuring that deserving students do not face difficulties in accessing higher education opportunities. The program aims to create awareness, facilitate discussions on challenges and solutions, and provide information on opportunities available under the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme for Dalit students.Kainth said, “We recognize the pivotal role of educational institutions in this endeavour and have requested support from university authorities to plan and host a one-hour program during working days in February and following months. The program aims to directly address students, engage in meaningful dialogue, and clarify any queries regarding the scholarship scheme”.
Kainth believes that such an initiative will empower students and contribute to the overall success and efficiency of university management. The event on 7th February will also be attended by President BJP SC Morcha Punjab S.R. Ladhar, Lok Sabha Prabhari Pradeep Garg, District President BJP Didar Singh Bhatti and other leaders. He further said, “this program is part of a broader initiative to be conducted in all universities and colleges in Punjab. The goal is to generate awareness not only about the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme but also about various opportunities and schemes benefiting citizens under the progressive leadership of Shri. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India”. The organizers expressed gratitude for the anticipated support from university authorities and are confident that this program will significantly impact the educational prospects of Dalit students, aligning with the broader vision of nation-building.
