Fazilka, 22 November 2024
Chief Agricultural Officer, Dr. Sandeep Rinwa, stated that the Agricultural Department teams are consistently conducting checks at the shops and warehouses associated with fertilizer dealers in the district to ensure the supply of necessary fertilizers for the Rabi crops.
Dr. Rinwa mentioned that fertilizer dealers have been instructed to provide Bill to farmers when they purchase fertilizers, including alternatives to DAP (Diammonium Phosphate), and ensure that unnecessary or unauthorized products are not sold.
He emphasized that any dealer found hoarding DAP fertilizer or engaging in illegal practices would face action under the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) 1985 and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
Dr. Rinwa further stated that as soon as DAP fertilizers are available with the dealers, they should sell them to the farmers without delay, especially since the sowing season for wheat is in full swing. He added that DAP fertilizers are in demand for wheat sowing in the district, and therefore, as soon as the supply arrives, it should be made available to the farmers. In addition, alternative fertilizers should also be supplied.
He appealed to the farmers to use the alternative fertilizers for wheat sowing and continue their agricultural practices without any hindrances.
