Director Libraries, Rafi Ahmad also Visiting Officer Municipal Committee Handwara visited wards of Handwara town to address the developmental scenario at grassroots level on the conclusion of ‘My Town My Pride’ (MTMP) programme. On the occasion, the Visiting Officer told concerned officers to fasten the developmental tempo in the town and make sure completion of all on-going works in time. He also asked for identification of state land in the town so that the same is utilized for the benefit of the society. During the visit, the Director Libraries met various wayside gatherings and took feedback regarding developmental processes from them. He also assembled a Town Hall with Councilors and officers. The Councilors put forward their demands for their concerned wards and the director assured them that their demands would be submitted to the higher authorities for early resolution.The Visiting Officer gave cheques worth Rs.16 lakh among the beneficiaries for construction of houses under PMAY-(U). He also distributed Domicile certificates, baby kits, under various individual beneficiary oriented schemes. During the visit, the Director was accompanied by Nodal Officer MTMP, Mohammad Ishaq Shah, President Municipal Committee, Masroor Ahmad Banday, concerned Councilors and other officers.
