Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that under Seva Pakhwada, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has set new milestones in the field of social service in Ambala Cantonment. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 to the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on October 2, BJP’s Seva Pakhwada witnessed enthusiastic participation not only from party workers but also from local citizens, who contributed actively to the social welfare programmes.
Sh. Vij said that in Ambala Cantonment, BJP organised various activities across all four Mandals – Sadar Mandal, Mahesh Nagar Mandal, Shastri Mandal, and Gramin Mandal. These included blood donation camps, health check-up camps, plantation drives under the NaMo Van programme, and cleanliness campaigns. Citizens, along with BJP workers, joined these initiatives with full enthusiasm.
The Minister informed that blood donation camps were organised in all four Mandals, and the response was overwhelming. Although the initial target was to collect 75 units of blood to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, the enthusiasm of workers and citizens helped surpass this goal, with a total of 353 units collected.
Similarly, health check-up camps were conducted across the four Mandals, where 1,468 people got themselves examined. Free medicines were distributed at the camps, and patients requiring further attention were referred to the Civil Hospital.
Under the NaMo Van initiative, against the target of planting 75 saplings, a total of 610 trees were planted at various locations across the four Mandals.
Blood Donation Camps Organised by Sadar Mandal where 78 units collected at Aggarwal Dharamshala. Mahesh Nagar Mandal collected 111 units Shri Banke Bihari Dharamshala. While Shastri Mandal collected 80 units at Garhwal Dharamshala. Similarly, Gramin Mandal collected 84 units at Maharana Pratap Bhawan, Babiyal.
In addition to this, Health Check-up Camps Organised by Sadar Mandal where 305 people examined at Jatav Dharamshala, 12 Cross Road. In Mahesh Nagar Mandal, 313 people examined at Hari Nagar Gurudwara premises. Same as by Shastri Mandal, 405 people examined at Machhaonda. Gramin Mandal, 445 people examined at Shyal Nagar.
Under the Tree Plantation: NaMo Van Programme. Sadar Mandal planted 135 trees near Topkhana Lake. By Mahesh Nagar Mandal, 80 trees planted in the Industrial Area. Shastri Mandal, 320 trees planted near Shaheed Smarak and by Gramin Mandal, 75 trees planted at Panjokhra Sahib.
