Chandigarh, October 2 – Haryana Governor, Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya said that we all must espouse Bapu Gandhiji’s three wise monkeys teachings in our lives only then the country and society will be free from evil. Mr. Arya paid tributes to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi ji and Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri ji, on their birth anniversary at an event organised in Raj Bhavan today and gave his views about Gandhiji’s philosophy of life. Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite Ramdhun and hymns were played during the event on this occasion. Secretary to the Governor, Dr. G. Anupama and other officers, including the Governor’s family were present during the occasion.
While quoting Gandhiji’s philosophy, ‘bura na dekhe, bura na sune, bura na bole’ he said that Gandhiji had also given this through the three monkeys during his lifetime. He added that by embracing this principle it can be ensured that the country and the society are free from evil and can be strengthened further.
Governor said that the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhiji, while teaching the philosophy of ‘Sarvadharma Samanvaye’, united the country and got freedom. He asked people to follow the message of Mahatma Buddha of treading the path of truth and non-violence while imparting lesson of peace to humanity. Along with this, Gandhiji launched several movements to strengthen the country.
He said that due to the efforts made by the second Prime Minister of the country, Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri, to ensure country’s self-sufficiency and self-reliance, today India is not only self-reliant in terms of defence and food grains, but also in exporting food grains and protecting other countries. By giving the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan’ Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the green revolution a boost in the country. In a very short tenure, he ensured all-round progress of the country.
Recalling Gandhiji and Shastriji, Governor Mr. Arya said that many renowned personalities considered Gandhiji as an idol and tried to imitate his lifestyle. Gandhiji wanted an India in which there is equality among all communities, untouchability ceases to exist, there should be cleanliness and equality among men and women and the country should be prosperous, happy and healthy.
Governor said that today the whole country is celebrating the birth anniversary of both the great personalities. On this occasion, he called upon the youth to take a pledge that they will work for the progress of the country and the state by practising disciplined lifestyle and will remain united only then will we be able to build the India which father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhiji and Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastriji had dreamt of. He has also appealed to the general public to follow the rules laid down by the government during the time of corona. He urged the people to maintain social distancing norms, especially by wearing mask, using sanitizers, to prevent the spread of corona virus.
