Kanwar Pal has urged the people to take a pledge to educate illiterate and poor children around them

Chandigarh, September 8: On the occasion of World Literacy Day, Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal has urged the people to take a pledge to educate illiterate and poor children around them. He said that children are a great heritage and nation builders of the future.

In a message issued on the occasion of World Literacy Day, Education Minister said that it is very important for every child to have the best education and cultural values so that in future they become capable enough to give a good direction to the nation. He said that therefore the schools along with imparting good education should also nurture values in   children.

Mr. Kanwar Pal said that the newly announced National Education Policy-2020 has also emphasized on the fact that no child in the country should be deprived of education. Radical changes have been made in the New Education Policy so that every child gets the education from pre-school to higher education level as per his convenience and ease. He said that in this age of Information Technology, it is very important for all to be literate.

The Education Minister said that in the New National Education Policy, suggestions were invited from Panchayati Raj institutions, representatives of Urban Local Bodies, representatives of Parliament and State Assemblies of the country as well as every educationist who understands the importance and purpose of education system. He said that that more than 2 lakh suggestions were incorporated in the New Education Policy, which is the biggest feature of this policy.

Mr. Kanwar Pal has appealed to the people to resolve that no child in the country should remains illiterate.
