Chandigarh, April 29 – Haryana Health Minister Sh. Anil Vij has directed the officers of the Health Department to ensure that all functional government and private laboratories in the state prepare COVID-19 test report within 24 hours of collecting the samples so that the patients get timely medical facility. Besides this, a 400-bedded hospital should be started as soon as possible in SGT Gurugram.

The Health Minister was presiding over the meeting of the State Level COVID Monitoring Committee and Crisis Co-ordination Committee here today. Sh. Vij said that the doctor and para-medical staff is already available in the SGT hospital and it will be started soon after arranging adequate oxygen supply. In addition, the use of Tocilizumab medication should be considered as an alternative to Remdesivir so that people can get the medicine easily and not focus on a single drug.

He said that for the hospitals to be operated in Hisar and Panipat for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, the services of doctors and para-medical staff working in ESI hospitals and dispensaries of the state should be taken. In addition, in this time of crisis, the services of the IMA should also be considered. For this, honorarium and insurance protection can also be provided to them by the Government.

The Health Minister said that many COVID patients who are being treated in many private hospitals have not got themselves registered with the government, however, they are asking for oxygen from the government. In such a situation, the government is facing difficulty in giving oxygen to the corona infected patients admitted in these hospitals. Therefore, the private hospitals must get their registration done with the District Administration.

He said that keeping in view of the spike in COVID-19 cases, Section-144 and night curfew should be strictly enforced and public places like parks, gyms, bars should be closed.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Power, Sh. P.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, Sh. Alok Nigam, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Principal Secretary of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agarwal and many senior officers were present.
