Applications for Franchisee of Har Hith Retail Store Scheme started
Enthusiasm among applicants to open Har Hith Retail Store from rural to urban areas
Chandigarh, August 28 – In order to boost business, employment and modern market in rural areas of the state, Har Hith Retail Store Scheme has been started by Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Scheme has been formulated with the aim of ensuring that everything required is available in the village itself. Its main objective is to make available high quality items at better prices to the rural consumers through the modern retail market in the village itself. Under this Scheme, the manufacturing capabilities of Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Self Help Groups will be enhanced. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the youth for the Scheme. The application process for the Scheme is underway. Along with this, the store site survey of eligible candidates is being done and is in its first phase. Store site survey is being done free of cost by the Department. Interested applicants can apply by visiting the website of Har Hith Scheme.
Only 12th pass will be able to open retail store under Har Hith Scheme
Under the Har Hith Retail Scheme, only Class 12 pass youth can open their own store. Its age limit is from 21 to 35 years. By the year 2024, the State Government aims to make Haryana Berozgar Mukt- Rozgar Yukt. In this sequence, the government has taken forward this commendable scheme in the direction of creating more employment opportunities for the youth.
Rather than seeking jobs, youth of the State will provide employment
Giving information in this regard, Managing Director, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Limited, Sh. Rohit Yadav said that by opening Har Hith Retail Stores, the youth of the State Government would be self-employed instead of seeking jobs. Besides this, Har Hith will revive the retail sector, moreover it will directly and indirectly uplift the economy of the State. He said that a target has been set to open 5,000 stores under this Scheme. In the first phase, 2,000 stores will be opened, out of which 1,500 stores will be opened in rural areas and 500 stores in urban areas. The government has set a target of opening 100 stores by Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. These stores will promote the sale of best quality daily necessities products and ensure access to the customers at reasonable prices.
Speaking in this regard, Sh. Rohit Yadav said that the SHGs, Farmer Producer Organizations, Government Societies and MSME Partners will experience increase productivity through efficient and cost effective resources, higher returns through better market linkages and overall socio-economic development will be provided by associating with Har Hith Scheme. Har Hith’s goal is to ensure regularity of sales with certainty of market access and to consolidate them completely. The Scheme will lay emphasis on generating more employment at the grassroots-level and will also help in creating optimum trade opportunities.

5,000 Har Hith stores will be opened in Haryana. In the first phase, 2000 stores will be opened in which 75 percent of the stores will be opened in the villages. There is a lot of enthusiasm among youth in rural and urban areas for the Scheme. This is the reason that so far 50 percent of the applications have been received from the villages of the State. In the first phase, the villages whose population is more than 3000 will be selected. Also, the youth of the same village will get the franchise of Har Hith Scheme. Applications are being accepted for getting franchisees under the Scheme. Subsequently, the list of selected candidate will be released. There is enthusiasm among the youth for getting the franchise which is evident as till date more than 700 applications and about 8,000 calls have been received in his regard.
Opening retail store with the help of Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana
Under Har Hith Retail Scheme, loan assistance will be provided with the help of Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana. To get the bank loan, the selected candidate will have to apply on the website for availing Mudra loan along with the franchise application of Har Hith. The selected candidate’s application will be sent to SBI Bank or another bank where the applicant has an account. The SBI Nodal Officer’s number will be shared with the candidate for further loan processing or the candidate can contact his/her branch for loan assistance. The loan will be allotted by the bank to the selected candidates.
