CLOTH BAGS ARE BEING DISTRIBUTED TO PEOPLE WHO ADHERE BY ALL PREVENTIVE NORMS, TEJ PRATAP SINGH PHOOLKA
DC CALLS OUT TO THE PEOPLE OF BARNALA TO MAKE THIS INITIATIVE A MOVEMENT

District administration Barnala has initiated a unique campaign to mitigate the spread of corona virus. Those not wearing masks are being distributed free masks and those adhering by all preventive means are being rewarded with free cloth bags under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao program.
Giving this information Deputy Commissioner Mr Tej Pratap Singh Phoolka stated that the district administration was working very hard on mitigating the covid spread. The administration is getting cloth masks and cloth bags readied from various self help groups in the district. 25 teams of the youth services department have been constituted that go around distributing free masks to those who are found not wearing a mask and those found adhering to all the norms are being given free cloth bags. So far 5800 masks and 300 bags have been distributed.
Assistant director youth services Mr Vijay Bhaskar stated that 8 teams of NSS volunteers and youth clubs are distributing masks in Barnala city, 4 teams at Tapa, 4 teams at Bhadaur, 5 teams at Dhanaula, 4 teams at Mahal Kalan, Sehna etc have been deputed that are regularly distributing masks under Mission Fateh.
He added that under Mission Fateh 2000 masks have been distributed in Barnala city, 1000 at Tapa, 1000 at Bhadaur, 1500 masks at Dhanaula and 300 masks at Handiaya. Similarly, 200 people in Barnala and 100 people in Tapa have been distributed cloth bags under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
District Program Officer Kulwinder Singh said that the cloth bags are being prepared by the SHGs, which are being distributed under Mission Fateh. Its main aim is to create awareness by means of giving masks who do not have and reward those with a cloth bag who are already following all the norms.
