Employment Linked Incentive Scheme of Central Government will benefit youth: Rao Narbir Singh

Haryana’s Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh welcomed the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme recently announced by the Central Government and said this scheme will prove to be very beneficial for the new employees getting employment in the MSME, manufacturing and service sectors of the state. He said this scheme will prove to be a milestone in providing employment to the youth as well as providing social security.

Rao Narbir Singh was participating in a videoconferencing organized by Union Labour and Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya with the Labour and Employment Ministers of the states today. He joined this virtual meeting from Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh.

He informed that this scheme has been approved by the Union Cabinet on July 1, 2025. The objective of the scheme is to increase employment opportunities and provide direct benefits in the form of incentives to employees getting jobs for the first time. For this, Rs 99,446 crore will be spent in the initial phase and a target has been set to create 3.5 crore new jobs across the country in the next two years. The scheme will be effective from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2027.

Under the scheme, assistance of up to Rs 15,000 will be provided in two installments to the youth coming into employment for the first time, provided they remain employed on the rolls of the concerned employer. Similarly, the employer will be given a monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 per employee, if he is providing a salary up to Rs 10,000, Rs 2,000 per employee on a salary of more than Rs 10,000 and up to Rs 20,000 and Rs 3,000 per employee on a salary of more than Rs 20,000 and up to Rs 1 lakh.

The minister said the objective of this scheme is to support the employees as well as the employers of various sectors so that they are motivated to create new employment. For the manufacturing sector, this scheme can also be extended to the third and fourth year.

Rao Narbir Singh directed the state officials to take action to establish food facilities and canteens for the workers in industrial areas like Gurugram, IMT Sohna and Manesar. He also said that meetings should be held with local industry organizations and they should be informed about this scheme of the Central Government so that they can take advantage of it in their industries.

On this occasion, Labour Commissioner Dr. Maniram Sharma, Director General of Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. D.K. Behera and other senior officers of Employment, Labour and Industries Department were also present.
