The Shiromani Akali Dal has already distributed 500 trucks of maize silage across all flood affected villages in the State

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today flagged off 100 trucks of maize silage for livestock in flood affected areas in Patiala, Jalandhar and Kapurthala districts.
The Shiromani Akali Dal has already distributed 500 trucks of maize silage across all flood affected villages in the State. “Today we have sent 10,000 quintals of maize silage to areas along the Ghaggar in Patiala and to Sultanpur Lodhi following additional demand from farmers in both areas”.
Mr Badal also announced that Akali workers were collecting wheat for distribution to flood affected areas as well as among poor families. “We are committed to distributing certified wheat seed for one lakh acres of land as well as wheat to 50,000 poor families in flood affected villages. This exercise will be initiated in another week or so”.
The SAD president also disclosed that the centre established to provide aid to the flood hit was still functioning and had done commendable work in a short period of time. “We are responding to each and every request for help. I offer my thanks to all Akali workers who have volunteered their services for this mammoth task. It is because of those workers that the party has been successful in conducting fogging in all flood affected villages of the State”.
Senior leaders present on the occasion included Paramjit Singh Dhillon, Jagmohan Singh Sandhu, Parminder Singh Sohana, Ravinder Khera.
