Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency, Harmeet Singh Sandhu, commended the decision of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to organize a series of samagams (events) dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Guru, ‘Hind Di Chadar’ Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Sandhu said that the AAP government has begun these sacred commemorations with the blessings of Guru Sahib, under which CM and Cabinet Ministers today paid obeisance and offered Ardas at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Delhi.

In a press statement, Harmeet Singh Sandhu said it is a matter of great pride that Punjab Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora, Harjot Singh Bains, Harbhajan Singh ETO, Dr. Balbir Singh, along with other ministers, MPs, and MLAs, walked barefoot from Red Fort to Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib to bow their heads in reverence. He added that the ministers’ tribute at the sacred martyrdom sites of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji reflects the AAP government’s deep respect for Guru Sahib and the unparalleled sacrifices made by His Sikhs.

Sandhu stated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government truly embodies Guru Ji’s universal message of love, secularism, religious tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. He said that Guru Sahib’s supreme sacrifice in Delhi to uphold the religious rights of humanity remains an eternal inspiration, and the Mann government is making sincere efforts to spread this philosophy to every household in Punjab.

Appreciating the programs announced by the government, Sandhu said that the commemorations starting today will conclude on November 25 at Sri Anandpur Sahib. He informed that from November 1 to 18, light and sound shows depicting Guru Sahib’s life and teachings will be organized across all districts of Punjab. Additionally, special Kirtan Darbars will be held in towns and cities associated with Guru Sahib.

He further stated that on November 19, a grand Nagar Kirtan will commence from Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir), which will also witness participation from Kashmiri Pandits, a true tribute to Guru Sahib’s sacrifice made for the protection of the Hindu faith. Similarly, on November 20, three other Nagar Kirtans will begin from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Faridkot, and Gurdaspur, and all of them will reach Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22.

The AAP candidate added that the government’s plan to establish a special tent city named “Chakk Nanaki”, organize an Interfaith (Sarv Dharam) Conference, and host a special exhibition and drone show on Guru Ji’s life from November 23 to 25 at Sri Anandpur Sahib is truly historic. He especially lauded the revolutionary decision to convene a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 24, dedicated to Guru Sahib’s martyrdom, where discussions on his eternal philosophy will take place.

Harmeet Singh Sandhu said these events are proof of the Punjab Government’s deep commitment to its spiritual heritage and Panthic values under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He appealed to the people of Tarn Taran constituency to ensure a decisive victory for the Aam Aadmi Party in this by-election so that the hands of CM Bhagwant Mann, who is dedicated to serving Punjab, Punjabis, and the spirit of Punjabiyat, are strengthened, and the wave of development on Tarn Taran continues with even greater momentum.
