Holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib is all set to welcome lakhs of devotees who will be visiting the city of bliss to pay obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and participate in series of events being organized by the Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh to commemorate 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.
Divulging the details Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that Punjab government led by Chief Minister has embarked a series of events to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji after senior Cabinet Ministers performed Ardas at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib on October 25, which was followed by Kirtan Darbar at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj sahib where Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Convener of AAP Arvind Kejriwal took part. Likewise, Light and Sound Show was organized in all the 23 districts across the state and Kirtan Samagam was held at three places in Baba Bakala, Amritsar and Patiala. On November 19 Nagar Kirtan started from Gurdwara Chhevi Patchhahi, Srinagar, which Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann also took part, which will reach Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22 via Jammu, Patankot, Dasuya, Hoshiarpur, Mahilpur and Garshankar.
The Cabinet Minister said that Another nagar kirtan on Majha Doaba Route will start from Gurdwara Sri Sangat Sar Pathwala, Gurdaspur on November 22 and reach Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22 via Batala, Baba Bakala Sahib, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Tarn Taran, Goindwal Sahib, Kapurthala, Kartarpur, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Banga , Nawanshehar and Balachaur. Similarly, another nagar kirtan on Malwa 1 Route will start from Qila Mubarak (Baba Shekh Farid Yadgari Asthaan), Faridkot on November 20 and reach Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22 after crossing through Ferozepur, Moga, Jagroan, Ludhiana, Khanna, Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib, Morinda, Chamkaur Sahib and Rupnagar. Likewise, nagar kirtan on Malwa 2 Route will start from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabho on November 20 and reach Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22 via Bathinda, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala, Rajpura, Banur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Kurali and Rupnagar.
The Cabinet Minister said that On November 23 Sri Akhand Path Sahib will arambh at Gurudwara Sahib near Baba Buddha Dal Chhauni in which Chief Minister along with other dignitaries will participate. Likewise, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate an Exhibition on the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Virasat-e-Khalsa memorial. On the same day Sarv Dharm Sammelan will be organized by the state government at main pandal Baba Buddha Dal Chhauni in which eminent religious leaders like Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji, Dr. Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac Malekar (Jews), Bhikkhu Sanghsena Ji (Buddha), Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, Acharaya Dr. Lokesh Muni Ji (Jain), Rajyogi Dr. Binny Sareen Ji (Brahma Kumari), Haji Syed Salman Chisty Ji (Muslim), Mahant Gyandev Ji (Nirmal Akhada), Syed Afsar Ali Nizami (Muslim), Parampujya Muktanand Bapuji and Mahant Sampurnanand Ji (Panchagni Akhada) along with others are expected to participate.
The Cabinet Minister said that On November 24 Sheesh Bhent Nagar Kirtan will start from Kiratpur Sahib to Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial, Heritage Walk will be organized at Sri Anandpur Sahib (Gurudwara Bhora Sahib-Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib-Guru Teg Bahadur Museum- Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib- Kila Anandgarh Sahib & culmination at Virasat-e-Khalsa) and Special Vidhan Sabha Session will be held at Bhai Jaita ji memorial. Similarly, Gatka and other events such as Tent Pegging, Dhal-Talwar duel and Shastra Darshan, Simran and Sword Fusion will be organized at Charan Ganga stadium. From November 23 to 29 Drone Show will be held at Virasat-e-Khalsa memorial daily.
The Cabinet Minister further said that Similarly, on November 25 after Bhog of Sri Akhand Path sahib ji, Sarbat Da Bhala Ikattarta will be held at Main Pandaal of Baba Buddha Dal Chhauni. Meanwhile, the state government has made elaborate arrangements facilitating lakhs of devotees arriving in the holy city to witness these events. A structured three-tier parking system (Category A, B, and C) has been evolved to manage the large influx of vehicles expected during the commemorations.
The Cabinet Minister said that Category A parking are located closest to major congregation points, offering smooth entry and exit and category B parking serve mid-distance locations with strong shuttle connectivity, while Category C parking act as peripheral zones to prevent congestion near central venues. All parking sites are equipped with CCTV surveillance, lighting, barricading, traffic marshals, clear signage, and mobile toilets. Existing parking spaces around key religious and cultural locations have also been integrated into the plan.
The Cabinet Minister said that To ensure seamless movement of devotees from parking zones to key venues, a large-scale shuttle transport plan has been implemented. The deployed fleet includes 500 e-rickshaws, 150 mini-buses, 25 Force Urbania vans, 15 cars, 20 Tata Ace vehicles for support, and 10 golf carts for elderly and specially-abled pilgrims. Shuttle services will operate continuously between parking locations and Gurudwara Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Virasat-e-Khalsa, the main pandal, Tent Cities, and help desk points. The system will be monitored through the Integrated Control Centre, with dedicated pick-up points, signage, and volunteers guiding movement.
Cabinet Minister said that Recovery vans and cranes have been positioned strategically to handle breakdowns and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow. The Parking and Shuttle Services Plan has been designed to provide safe, efficient, and well-coordinated transportation for all visiting sangat. Through segregated parking tiers, an extensive shuttle fleet, and real-time monitoring, the state government aims to ensure smooth mobility and a positive experience for all pilgrims attending the 350th martyrdom day commemorations.
Cabinet minister said that Similarly, to facilitate the large influx of devotees during the events to mark commemoration of 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, the District Administration, Rupnagar is establishing two major Tent Cities Chak Nanki Niwas Tent City and Bhai Mati Das Niwas Tent City designed to collectively accommodate approximately 10,000 sangat. Spread across 81 acres, these Tent Cities form the backbone of the accommodation plan for the event. The Tent Cities provide a combined occupancy of 9,520 pilgrims, with a mix of 4-bedded units and 16-bedded dormitory-style tents.
cabinet Minister said that The layout ensures ease of access, crowd movement, and proximity to primary congregation points. Two tent cities namely Chak Nanki Niwas Tent City (Tent City–1) in village Chandesar, on Garhshankar Sri Anandpur Sahib Road and Bhai Mati Das Niwas Tent City (Tent City–2) in Village Jhinjri, on Kiratpur Sahib–Sri Anandpur Sahib Road are coming up. Both Tent Cities are equipped with full civic and comfort facilities to ensure a safe and dignified stay for the visiting sangat.
The cabinet minister said that key features in these tent cities include high-speed Wi-Fi, dedicated washrooms and bathing facilities, continuous water supply, CCTV surveillance, Aam Aadmi Clinics (24×7 OPD, lab tests, medicines), LED screens for real-time information, and internal roadways with signage. Special emphasis is being laid on Health, Sanitation and Safety, Daily fogging, disinfection, water sampling, and sanitation drives ensure cleanliness and hygiene. Mobile toilets, bathing vans, water tankers, and others have been placed at key points.
Along with other facilities, ambulance deployment and coordination with the 24×7 Integrated Control Room will ensure rapid medical response. Connectivity and Transport Shuttle services, e-rickshaws, and other transport arrangements will link the Tent Cities with Gurudwara Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Virasat-e-Khalsa, main pandal areas, parking sites, and help desks. Movements in the tent cities will be monitored through the district-level Integrated Control Centre.
The Tent Cities reflect the commitment of the state government to provide world-class facilities for pilgrims during this historic event. With robust accommodation, medical support, civic amenities, and security arrangements, the Tent Cities aim to ensure a comfortable, safe, and spiritually fulfilling experience for all visiting sangat. The tent city will provide a comfortable and unique experience to the devotees coming in the holy city for participating in these commemorative events.
In order to ensure smooth and secure arrangements for the upcoming grand events to commemorate the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Punjab Police has also made elaborate arrangements for comprehensive security, facilitation, and traffic management. The grand commemorative events, to be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25, 2025, are expected to draw lakhs of devotees from across the globe. Foolproof security arrangements have been made to check any sort of untoward incidents during the commemorative events and to deftly maintain law and order.
A large-scale force of over 8,000 police personnel, under the supervision of senior rank officers, have been deployed to ensure the safety, orderly movement, and comfort of the devotees expected to visit. The security arrangements are heavily reliant on cutting-edge technology and a high-tech control room is being established, integrated with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), PTZ, and Facial Recognition Cameras at all entry and exit points of the city, complemented by surveillance drones. The entire area has been systematically divided into 25 sectors, each with its own sub-control room and help desk to ensure efficient management.
For the convenience of the devotees, comprehensive traffic and logistical plans are in place including 24×7 shuttle services to all venues and tent cities, besides, smart barricading systems are being positioned strategically to smoothen crowd flow and strengthen ground regulation. For seamless traffic management and minimal inconvenience to the devotees, the District Police in partnership with IIT Ropar, has activated a real-time digital mapping of parking zones, based on live occupancy and capacity, to guide the public and support efficient traffic management. Apart from this, advanced surveillance grids, intelligent traffic coordination, and robust field supervision mechanisms are fully operational to maintain order and facilitate the Sangat arriving from across the nation.
Technology enabled facilitation systems including dedicated help desks, public convenience facilities, and real-time monitoring dashboards have been established to ensure a smooth, safe, and spiritually fulfilling experience for devotees. Comprehensive contingency plans, including crowd management, recovery vans, and medical services such as Mohalla Clinics and referral hospitals, are also in place. The force deployment itself is streamlined using QR codes for briefings, and lady police and specialized civil uniformed personnel at heavy footfall and sensitive locations are also being deployed strategically.
To create deterrence and pre-empt any untoward incident, data pertaining to snatchers in and around the Ropar district has also been integrated with the facial recognition system. All officers and personnel have been instructed to perform their duties with sensitivity, humility, and unwavering respect for the sanctity of the occasion, upholding the dignity and rights of every citizen. The security has already been beefed up in the holy city and round the clock vigil was being kept in the city for which various patrolling parties of the Police officials have been set up.
The spectacular drone show which showcases the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji through ultra modern technology is being organized at Virasat-e-Khalsa memorial from November 23-29. This path breaking initiative of the state government was aimed at acquainting the younger generations of the state with the teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji by using the hi-end technology. The show was a humble tribute to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji by the state government and beautifully projected Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life, philosophy and supreme sacrifice
Through the show, the high ideals of secularism, humanism and spirit of self sacrifice as preached and practiced by ‘Hind Di Chaadar’ – the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji is being brought alive. The show gives an immersive experience to the viewers about how Guru Ji laid down his life to protect the right of freedom to worship and preserve human and secular values. The show also showcases Guru ji’s supreme sacrifice which is unique and unparalleled in the history of mankind and symbolizes the crusade against tyranny and oppression.
The Bani of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib preaches oneness of mankind, universal brotherhood, valour, righteousness and compassion, which is truly depicted in the show. The masses will witness glimpses of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s grandeur through this show to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. The outdoor show being held at Virasat-e-Khalsa unfolds into a multiple part story, immersed in a beautiful symphony of Colourful visual projections, Advanced lasers – all led by a creative soundtrack.
