A grand “Swadeshi Mela” will be held on December 24, 2025, at Bahu Plaza, Jammu. This was announced by J&K BJP Vice-President Priya Sethi and General Secretary Gopal Mahajan, during a press conference at the J&K BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
J&K BJP Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, Convenor Department of Publicity and Literature S. Varinderjit Singh, and Convenor Department for Party Journals and Publications Rajnish Jain were especially present during the press meet and release of concerned poster.
Addressing the media, Priya Sethi said that the Swadeshi Mela is being organized with the objective of promoting local products and empowering artisans, craftsmen, and traders associated with indigenous industries. She emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen the local socio-economic ecosystem while encouraging self-employment and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.
Sethi further appealed to the people of Jammu to participate in large numbers and extend their support to local artisans and producers, stating that public participation will play a vital role in boosting their morale and sustaining traditional livelihoods.
Linking the initiative with the broader national vision, Priya Sethi said the Swadeshi Mela aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Viksit Bharat Sankalp”, highlighting the resolve to preserve and revive India’s rich culture, traditions, and local economies. She added that contributors to this national mission, including those showcasing local cuisines and traditional crafts, will be a major attraction at the Mela.
Speaking on the occasion, Gopal Mahajan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently advocated the use of Swadeshi and locally manufactured products since the very beginning, with a clear vision of achieving a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He noted that the BJP has launched a dedicated Abhiyan on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, which will culminate on December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, observed as Good Governance Day (Sushasan Diwas).
Later, the senior BJP leaders jointly released the official poster of the “Swadeshi Mela evam Pari-Samvaad”, formally announcing that the event will be held on December 24, 2025, from 10:00 am onwards at Bahu Plaza, Jammu.
