Cabinet sub-committee to solve problems caused by stray animals in cities
Jaipur, May 18. A meeting of the Council of Ministers was held at the Chief Minister’s residence under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, on Wednesday. District collectors have been authorized to open fodder depots in such districts of the state, which are not affected by famine and where the price of fodder has increased. Along with this, in the past the District Collectors were instructed to take all possible measures to ensure availability of water for districts having shortage of drinking water. Necessary funds have been made available to the district collectors for the purpose.
The financial burden on the State due to the pressure of the Central Government to buy imported coal was also discussed. Along with this, instructions were given to the concerned departmental officers to ensure adequate supply of coal in the state and to keep additional stock.
‘Work in every village’ under MGNREGA
In the meeting, instructions were given to the Rural Development Department to conduct regular monitoring to ensure ‘work in every village’ under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA).
Cabinet sub-committee for prevention of problems caused by stray animals in urban areas
The Cabinet decided to constitute a Cabinet sub-committee to address the problems caused by stray animals in urban areas. Along with this, instructions were also given for smooth operation of Gaushalas and Nandi Shalas in the state and allotment of pasture land for them. At the same time, it was also decided to include works related to the maintenance of stray animals and cattle under the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme.
