Apprehend registration of third false case against Majithia

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asserted that after failing to gather evidence in the recently registered false case of Disproportionate Assets case against former minister Bikram Singh Majithia, now Vigilance Officials had started creating false evidence against the Akali leader.
Disclosing this in a press conference here, SAD chief spokesman Arshdeep Singh Kler and advocate Damanbir Singh Sobti said the Vigilance bureau had failed to buttress their claims that 29 Mobiles had been recovered from Mr Majithia including Rs. 141 crore transactions, Rs. 540 crore investment and 1000 acre land in Himachal Pradesh.
They said now the Vigilance department was picking up persons illegally and torturing them to sign statements under sections 164. Giving an example, they said that one SP – GS Bains picked up Balwinder Singh and his brother in law Manjinder Singh from Amritsar on July 21. “They were kept in a private hotel in Amritsar and were compelled to sign their statements u/s 164 stating that investments done by his late brother Rupinder Singh was done with cash given by Bikram Singh Majithia”. The lawyers said next day they were brought to the Vigilance Bureau office in Mohali where IO Inderpal Singh rebuked them in filthy language.
Arshdeep Kler and Damanbir Sobti said that the family of these two persons approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court and a Habeas Corpus petition was filed. “High Court appointed a Warrant officer who raided the Vigilance Bureau office at Mohali along with a team. They said that when the government came to know about this development they were immediately taken to Amritsar and were forced by Vigilance officials to give a statement to their family that they were coming in a bus which they flatly refused.
They further disclosed that now the statement of one Vasu Pathak was being recorded under which Vasu was told to state that one Jeeta Maur made an investment with cash received from Bikram Majithia.
They also disclosed that one Mahesh Puri who introduces himself as a retired CBI official and Advisor of Arvind Kejriwal in his legal cases visited the Vigilance office regularly and guided Punjab Vigilance officials on how to proceed in the case. They said that another person named Vishaljit Singh also dictated Punjab officials in the case. “Both Mahesh Puri and Vishaljit Singh are forcing officers to sign papers in the case under a deep rooted conspiracy which has been hatched in Delhi”.
Mr Majithia’s legal team also disclosed that now one Ravjot Kaur Grewal and Naveen Singla had also been attached with the team without any formal orders. “These persons are overseeing all the work to create and fabricate evidence against Majithia. The team said that evidence collection was over now and evidence creation was under process. They apprehended that a third false case might be registered against Bikram Majithia to silence his voice who always took on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for failing to deliver on the promises made to the people of Punjab.
They also disclosed that a lawyer of their team was kept under house detention on last hearing of the DA case. Besides Mohali SSP himself led the police team on last hearing when a lawyer from Mr Majithia’s team was manhandled in the court premises. They said that they had reported the matter to Bar Council of High Court and would take appropriate action in the matter.
Mr Arshdeep Kler said vendetta politics had become a new tool in the hands of the government to hide its failures and in the next one and a half years, Punjabis might witness many such false cases against opponents of the government.
They also disclosed that police has floated a new theory on a SIM card in the name of person Navneet from Khanna has been recovered whereas Majithia has nothing to so with any such SIM, he uses number which has been issued in his own name.
Legal Team reiterated that it was ready to take on the government head on for these false cases and would take all the cases to their logical conclusion.
