Chandigarh, September 2– A seven-member delegation from Bihar Police today made a courtesy call on Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana Sh. P.K. Agrawal at Police Headquarters.
The delegation led by DGP-cum-Chairman and Managing Director, Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation, Sh. Alok Raj visited to study the recently launched round-the-clock emergency response support system (ERSS) which is functioning from the State Emergency Response Centre (SERC) in Panchkula.
The delegation was aimed to learn the process behind the successful launch of Haryana 112 project for a better strategy mapping and programme execution of such an advanced project in their state.
During the meeting, DGP Sh. P.K. Agrawal apprised them about Haryana Police’s historic initiative towards empowering citizens with 24×7 Police assistance. Such a huge project has been dedicated to the people with the whole hearted support of the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Home Minister Sh. Anil Vij and the State government, he added.
Describing ‘Haryana 112’ as a game changer for serving the citizens, he said that now, the police will be able to reach the emergency spot even faster and help the needy citizen without any delay. This service is not just providing the help in crime related cases, but also, serving to the humanity by serving the mankind while responsing to a diverse distress calls.
Sh. Agrawal also learnt from the delegation about the status of 112 project in Bihar state.
In his presentation to the delegation, ADGP Telecom & IT Haryana Sh. A.S. Chawla, who is also the Nodal Officer of Haryana 112 project, informed that Haryana Police had built up separate training sections for the dedicated staff at SERC. Only the call receiving workforce has been outsourced and the remaining staff in the ERSS is from Haryana Police.
“We have put a lot of emphasis on training the staff deputed in 112 project. More than 600 police Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) have been provided across the state,” he added.
Being impressed by the additional infrastructure and technical development, the Bihar delegation appreciated the Haryana 112 project and its implementation in the state.
Others present included ADGP (Law and Order) Haryana Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, ADGP Headquarters Smt. Kala Ramachandran, IGP Admin. Sh. Sanjay Kumar, SP ERSS Sh. Udai Singh Meena, ADGP, Wireless and Technical Services, Bihar Sh. A.K. Ambedkar, Commandant Fire Services Bihar Sh. Gaurav Mangla and other officers form Bihar.
