CM Manohar Lal expresses gratitude to armed forces

Chandigarh, December 7- On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day today, Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal expressed his gratitude to the brave soldiers of the country. The Minister of State for Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare, Om Prakash Yadav pinned a flag, the symbol of Indian Armed Forces on Manohar Lal at PWD rest house in Gurugram for which the Chief Minister donated towards the Armed Forces Flag Fund.

\While congratulating all the soldiers of the armed forces of the country, the Chief Minister said that our brave soldiers protect the borders of the country in difficult circumstances without caring about their lives as a result of which we are able to sleep well. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all of us to think about the welfare of soldiers and their families. He also appealed to the people of the State to voluntarily contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Fund for the welfare of soldiers.

Speaking on this occasion, Minister of State for Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare, Om Prakash Yadav said that on this day, millions of people of the country contribute financially for the welfare of soldiers of Indian Army. He said that this contribution could also be made online by visiting the website of the Kendriya Sainik Board. He said that on August 28, 1949, a committee was formed for the purpose of collecting funds for the welfare of the soldiers of the Indian Army and only after the recommendation of the Committee, December 7 was chosen for this day.

The day of December 7, which is also observed as Armed Forces Flag Day is considered special for the Army and its soldiers. On this day the Indian Army collects money from people of the country for the welfare of its brave soldiers.

On this occasion, Minister of State, Om Prakash Yadav and MLA Gurugram, Sudhir Singla was pinned flag by Secretary, Zila Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Board, Colonel (Retd.) Aman Yadav for which they also donated towards the Armed Forces Flag Fund.

Among those present on this occasion included Deputy Commissioner, Amit Khatri, Commissioner of Police K.K Rao, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Vinay Pratap Singh and SDM Jitender Kumar.
