-Said Congress back stabbed the employees, which grabbed power by promising them permanent employment
– Issue of not providing permanent employment to contractual employees gains strength

Senior Leader of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema said that like SAD-BJP government, Congress government has back stabbed the working class of Punjab and neither Captain nor Channi fulfilled the promises during 2017 elections. Charanjit Channi like Badals, has also harassed the working class of Punjab in the name of providing permanent employment to 36,000 employees. Earlier the SAD-BJP government in 2016, then Capt. Amarinder Singh after coming to power to power in 2017 and now Charanjit Singh Channi have betrayed the contractual employees who have been demanding for fulfilling their rights in Punjab for the last 8 years. He alleged that the traditional parties such as Congress, SAD and BJP only take political advantage of the issues of the people while the demands of the common people are just political ladders by which they come to power and then loot the treasury of Punjab for five years.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Sunday, Harpal Cheema said, “Earlier the SAD-BJP government passed the Employees’ Bill at the last moment on the issue of providing permanent jobs which was being raised for three years and then came out of power before implementation. Captain Amarinder Singh took a leap forward on the issue and renounced the bill regarding the permanency of the employees which he promised during 2017 elections. While Captain Amarinder Singh did not do anything on the issue for four and half years, Channi government also spent crores of rupees on advertisements and putting banners on every nook and corner in the entire state and did nothing on ground for the welfare of employees. He said that how the Congress, Captain, SAD and BJP, which did nothing for 36,000 employees of Punjab in last 8 years, will face the people of Punjab in current elections.
The AAP leader said that the works which all these political parties failed to do would be done by the Aam Aadmi Party government. According to Harpal Cheema, “Traditional parties are only experts in politics. They know how to use the issues of the common man for their own political advantage. But no section of Punjab should worry now as the coming Government of AAP in Punjab knows how to work for the welfare of people. Just as the Kejriwal government has worked in Delhi, the people of Punjab shall have their own government of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab which shall work relentlessly for the upliftment of all sections of the society . Harpal Cheema said that with the formation of Aam Aadmi Party government in the state, 36,000 contractual employees would be made permanent and the issue would not be put on back burner as done by successive governments. In an appeal to the people of Punjab, he said that these are not the fake promises of Captain nor the gossip of Sukhbir Badal nor the announcement of Channi merely during elections, rather it was the guarantee of Aam Aadmi Party will be fulfilled after formation of government in Punjab.
