Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana: A New Lifeline for Women in Haryana, Education Minister

Chandigarh, August 30, 2025

Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that for thousands of women in Haryana who struggle to make ends meet, the state government’s upcoming Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana promises to bring a ray of hope.

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that the scheme aims to ease the burden of everyday expenses for women engaged in daily-wage work and other vulnerable groups.

The Education Minister further shared that under the scheme, every woman aged 23 years or above, married or unmarried, will receive a monthly assistance of Rs. 2,100. In its first phase, the scheme will cover families earning less than Rs. 1 lakh annually, with plans to gradually extend the benefits to more households across the state. The initiative will formally roll out on September 25, 2025, he informed.

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that for many women, this support could mean more than just financial relief. It is expected to help them manage household expenses, invest in their children’s education, or meet daily needs with dignity.

The Education Minister said that the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana joins a series of welfare measures the state has introduced for women, such as the Old Age Samman Allowance and financial aid for widows and destitute women. Together, these welfare measures reflect a broader vision of empowering women by offering both economic support and social recognition.
