Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the State is developing rapidly: Dushyant Chautala

Chandigarh, March 2: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the State is developing rapidly. In the next financial year, the State Government is going to take a historic step towards the Panchgram project being developed all around Delhi.

The Deputy Chief Minister said this while interacting with mediapersons after meeting of District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Faridabad today.

In reply to a question, the Deputy Chief Minister said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the state has done excellent work in all kinds of tax collection including GST, revenue, excise in the last financial year. Some projects were stalled due to COVID-19 pandemic which will be completed in the coming financial year, he added.

Regarding the procurement of crops in the state, he said that the present State Government is committed towards farmer’s welfare and is working continuously for their benefit. Six crops will be procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) in the upcoming procurement season and directions have been given to start procurement of mustard soon while wheat procurement will also be started from April 1, 2021.

Regarding the Agricultural laws, he said that the Central Government is ready to make changes in the laws. He said that the farmers’ leaders should come forward for the discussions regarding their issues. There have been more than 200 amendments in the GST law and if there is any problem in the Agricultural laws, then it can be resolved, he added. He said that we all have to emphasize on strengthening the agriculture rather than politics.

Regarding the development of sports in the state, Dushyant Chautala said that the State Government is constantly working to promote sports. Basic facilities are being developed under Khelo India in the state which will be further enhanced.
