Social Justice, Medical Education and Research Minister Punjab, Dr. Raj Kumar Verka extended his warm wishes to all the Punjabis living across the globe on the occasion of the festival of lights- Diwali.

In his message, Dr. Verka said that the festival symbolizes the triumph of truth and righteousness over falsehood and of good over evil and highlights the ethos and high values of the country’s cultural heritage. He appealed to the people to celebrate Green Diwali without firecrackers so that no harm is done to the environment.

Dr. Verka also congratulated all the people of the country, especially the Sikh community, on the ‘Bandi Chhor Diwas’ to mark the release of 52 Hindu kings from the Gwalior fort by Sixth Guru Sri Hargobind Sahib ji on the Diwali festival in year 1612.

Dr. Verka appealed to the people to celebrate this holy festival riseing above caste, religion and race with communal harmony, mutual love and brotherhood.
