Dushyant Chautala met Nitin Gadkari to expedite road development works in Haryana
Chandigarh, December 14: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala has met Union Road and Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Monday to expedite road development works in Haryana. During this meeting, Dushyant Chautala discussed various concerns with the Union Minister including many major road development projects of the state as well as the farmers’ agitation.
While interacting with mediapersons after the meeting, Dushyant Chautala said that under the Bharatmala Project, three Greenfield Corridors are being constructed in the state, the first from Amritsar to Gujarat, the second from Gurugram to Gujarat and the third and most important Ismailabad (Kurukshetra) to Narnaul.
He said that the State Government had placed a demand for the construction of East-West Corridor in Haryana before the Union Minister, Gadkari and two proposals were sent by the State Government to the centre in this regard. He said that today, he has demanded to get these proposals taken up by NHAI soon. During this, proposals related to the roads connecting Fazilka to Meerut and Hisar to Rewari were also discussed, he added
In response to a question regarding farmers’ agitation, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Union Agriculture Minister and the Ministry of Home Affairs are constantly discussing this matter. He said that a positive solution is expected soon after the seventh round of meeting between the farmers’ organizations and the Central Government. Dushyant Chautala said that the Central Government is working in the interest of farmers and the farmer organizations should also take steps that are for the benefit of the agriculture sector as a whole as the farmers are facing losses due to this protest. Mr. Chautala said that initially the farmer organizations wanted to include the MSP in writing, demanding changes in the bills and now the Central Government has agreed to it. He appealed to the farmers that instead of prolonging the agitation, the farmer organization should end this by holding discussion in the interest of everyone.
