Haryana Urdu Academy to announce awards for Urdu books and provide grants for publication of manuscripts

Chandigarh, January 6: Haryana Urdu Academy has announced to give awards for Urdu books and provide grants for publication of manuscripts. These awards and grants will be given for work done in the last five years.

Giving information about this, Director, Urdu Academy, Dr. Chandra Trikha, said that after being formally sanctioned by Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department and Executive Vice President, Urdu Academy, Mrs. Dheera Khandelwal, it has been decided to give awards to 14 books and to provide grants to four manuscripts.

Dr. Trikha said that among the Urdu writers of Haryana whose poetry books have been selected, the book ‘Jatey hue Lamho’ written by the late Mr. Mahendra Pratap ‘Chand’, ‘Aasuon ke Moti’  by Dr. Kumar Panipati, Late Dr. Gopal Krishna Shafak’s book ‘Sher-e-Shafak’, Mr. Krishna Kumar Toor’s work ‘Talisam-e-Toor’, Mr. Shams Tabreji’s’ Kalam-e-Shams Tabreji ‘, Dr. Himmat Singh Sinha Nazim’s ‘Nakush -A-Jimal ‘, Dr. Kumar Panipati’s ‘Ahad-e-nau-ki-siskiyon ka saaj hai meri ghazal’ and prose books include Mr. B.D. Kalia “Humdum’s”  ‘Ahabshar-e-Adab ‘, Dr. Indu Gupta’s ‘Sunhara Kaphas’, Dr. Desraj Sapra’s ‘Khazana-e-Adab’, Dr. Hakeem Qamaruddin Zakir’s ‘Muslah Kaum Maulana Hali’, Mr. M.M. Juneja’s ‘Bhagat Singh’s ki Din-b-Din Badhti hui Mukbuliyat ‘, Mr. B.D. Kalia’s ‘Badi Tehzeeb Hai Urdu Zuban Mein ‘and’ Dr. Sultan Anjum’s book ‘Javiya-e-Fikr-o-Nazar’.

Apart from these, among the authors whose manuscripts have been sanctioned for publication, Mr. S.L. Dhawan’s book Masovada ‘Jawaharat-e-Sukhan’ (poetry), Late Mr. Akhgar Panipati’s ‘Zakhmo-ke-Gulab’ (poetry), Mr. Vijender Gafil’s ‘Sehra-Sehra-Chand’ (poetry) and Dr. Sultan Anjum’s ‘Khwaab Zinda Hai’ (prose) are included.

Dr. Chandra Trikha further said that the author of each book selected for the award will be given an honorarium of Rs. 21,000 on behalf of Haryana Urdu Academy, while the author of each manuscript selected for publication will be given 75 percent of the total expenses of the publication or a maximum amount of Rs. 15,000.
