Place for handcart owners and small businessmen must be fixed in city planning

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that cleanliness and order in cities is essential, but above all proper arrangement for livelihood of poor is must. Industries should be established in the cities, but along with this, there should be proper arrangements for the handcarts as well. In the planning of cities, it is necessary to earmark a place for small businessmen and handcart owners.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a programme organized for the virtual dedication of 69 development works done in 24 cities of the state at a cost of Rs. 1056 crores at Minto Hall by the Urban Development and Housing Department. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan distributed Rs 299.40 crore of 15th Finance Commission to 402 urban bodies with a single click in the programme. The dedicated works include sewerage project, drinking water scheme, bus stand development, commercial complex, development of gardens, traffic management, library, school building, solar energy and housing complex built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Urban bodies will use the grant released under the 15th Finance Commission on sanitation, solid waste management, drinking water supply, and water conservation.
