Planned colonies to be developed in rural areas where a separate power house and ponds will be built: Dushyant Chautala
Chandigarh, March 18: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala said that planned colonies will be developed by the Haryana Government for needy people in the rural areas of the state, where a separate power house will be built for the convenience of electricity and ponds will be built for drinking water for their animals.
Dushyant Chautala said this while responding to a question asked by an MLA during the budget session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha today. He said that Rural Development Authority will set up the first planned colony of the state at Israna in Panipat district, where labourers and small workers will be able to buy their plots. He said that the scheme of giving plots of 100 yards each to needy people was started during the tenure of the former government. In villages where the Panchayat land was in sufficient quantity, this scheme was carried out in the villages, but where the land was not available, the people could not get plots there.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that data of needy people and available land will be revealed in the upcoming census which will commence from April 1, 2021, will be taken into consideration by the State Government accordingly.
In response to another supplementary question, he said that out of all the proposals for providing houses to needy people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, all have been paid for; only the third installment is outstanding. He said that a new housing scheme has been formulated by the present government by integrating various schemes to provide houses to the needy, under which houses will be given to those who are eligible.
