Chandigarh, September 23 – Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that the State Government has set a target to appoint 20,000 apprentices in Government sector and 25,000 apprentices in private sector under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) under Apprentices Act, 1961. All such apprentices will be appointed through the online portal www.apprenticeshipindia.org.
Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that the present state government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has been showing deep concern to enhance skill development among the youth. Moving in this direction, a district-wise target has been set to appoint apprentices in the private sector. A target has been set to appoint 10920 apprentices in all 22 districts across the state by March 31, 2021. He said that intensive efforts will be made to achieve this goal so that by this time period, the target of 400 apprentices per one lakh population of the state can be achieved. At present, about 312 apprentices have been appointed per one lakh population, which is highest in the country.
He said that in districts where there is less possibility of appointment of apprentices due to low number of private establishments, the Assistant Apprenticeship Advisor (AAA) of such districts and their team will make efforts to select their candidates in private establishments located in other districts with more number of industries.
