Chandigarh, June 2: Haryana Education and Forest Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal put an end to all the speculations regarding the Class XII examination of Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani and said that the State Government will follow the directions of the Central Government in this regard and will conduct internal assessment based on which the results will be declared soon. Also, the result of Class X exam will also be declared by June 15, 2021.
The Education Minister said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation is not conducive for conducting the examination. But if a child wants to take the examination, then the examination can be conducted for such students when the circumstances are normal.
Sh. Kanwar Pal said that the Forest Department has a nursery of 100 varieties of trees. A target has been set to plant 3.20 crore saplings in the state this year. Similarly, 90 lakh cloned Safeda saplings will be provided to the farmers so that their income is enhanced. He said that last year saplings were planted on vacant land in 1100 villages. This year a target has been set to plant saplings in 2200 villages. For this the cooperation of panchayats and villagers is required. He said that a lot of land is available in Saraswati Van Pehowa and Sisola in district Nuh. Along with these, biodiversity will be promoted by planting 4-5 different types of plants in the state. This will also benefit the animals and birds.
The Forest Minister said that while planting saplings, priority would be given to fruit-bearing plants. These saplings will be planted under a scheme where the fruit of the trees will belong to the farmer to enhance his income. These saplings will be planted in Ambala, Yamunanagar and Panchkula districts. He said that trees older than 40 years would be cut and new varieties of saplings would be planted in their place.
He said that a lot of land is lying vacant along the railway lines. Negotiations with Railways for planting trees on such land are almost complete. Soon work will be started on this scheme and small saplings will be planted on the side of the track so that there is no damage to the railways.
The Forest Minister said that 50 percent share from the trees cut on government land adjoining the farmer’s belongs to the farmer. There were complaints about the department cutting down big trees on its own and leaving small trees for farmers. Therefore, strict directions have been given to the officers of the department that now whatever tree will be cut, priority will be given to the farmer in its sorting. Efforts will be made to give a large share to the farmer so that he is encouraged to plant more and more trees.
