Claiming the sufficient storage for ongoing paddy procurement season, Punjab Managing Director of Food Corporation of India Mr. Arshdeep Singh Thind said here that there is adequate storage space available with FCI to accommodate the paddy and CMR (Custom Milled Rice) of central pool by the stipulated date i.e. April 30, 2021.
In a press communique released here today, Mr. Thind said that in view of early arrival of paddy in the mandis, procurement process will start from September 27,2020, All necessary arrangements like posting of staff, storage space, funds have been arranged for smooth procurement of paddy.
Mr. Thind further informed that state Govt. has designed and developed a web service for getting procurement related data saved in local database and publishing the same on National Procurement Portal (NPP) server. The NPP will store procurement data on regular basis includes farmers’ benefitted from the procurement, MSP amount disbursed for the day and number of farmers’ to whom the amount has been transferred. The payment of MSP to farmers will be ensured at all.
