Trivium drew a diverse and talented pool all the way from ISRAEL.

Chandigarh, 20 October:

SAASC (Speakers’ Association and Study Circle) of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh is organising the 14th edition of the TRIVIUM, an annual Asian Parliamentary Debating Championship from 21st-to-23rd of October, which kick started at PEC Campus today.

Trivium promises to be a grand platform for debaters from various renowned institutions, including IITs, NITs, Delhi University, and other prestigious colleges, who engage in rigorous debates and discussions. The event is set to showcase the prowess of young minds in the realm of rhetoric and critical thinking.

With a theme of the all time favorite “Star Wars”, Trivium saw participants from all over the globe including major colleges like Tel Aviv University (Israel), Mysore University, Delhi Technological University, NIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, etc.

This year’s Trivium, hosted at PEC Campus, drew a diverse and talented pool of participants, hailing from local Chandigarh, all the way from Israel and Bangalore.

The participation came from not just India but even from Israel. The first day came bearing a huge success with a delightful opening ceremony and the first round being a celebration of intellectual discourse.

This debating extravaganza will see massive participation from students from all over the nation and a stellar group of internationally reputed core adjudicators, invited adjudicators and an exciting pool of cash prizes. Over the course of the tournament, debaters will be pushed to take their thoughts between a couple of neurons inside their brain and formulate it into viewpoints upon themes encompassing law, feminism, politics, medicine, sports etc. giving students an experience which improves their critical thinking with sound reasoning power. The quality of the debate is superlative and the intensity of the competition is striking with the teams battling it out behind the podium and the adjudicators on the sheets.

Trivium never fails to live up to the legacy and standard of debating, which it has undeniably created a precedent for.

We look forward to the following two days being a splendid experience for all involved.
