Visit aligns with Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda’s vision of equipping the youth of the state with world-class technical expertise*

Strengthening Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda’s initiative to connect technical education with international standards, a high-level delegation from Italy was welcomed at Government Polytechnic Umri (Kurukshetra). The delegation visited India to promote collaboration in education, skill development, and technical cooperation between India and Italy.
The delegation conducted a detailed inspection of the institute’s state-of-the-art laboratories, workshops, smart classrooms, and technical resources. The innovative projects, models, and skill-based activities presented by the students left a strong impression on the foreign delegates. Appreciating the creativity and technical understanding of the students, they remarked that this level of competence reflects the Haryana government’s firm commitment to improving the quality of education.
Officers from the institute welcomed the delegation and said that such international collaborations play a crucial role in helping students understand global technical standards, modern industrial requirements, and international employment opportunities. This initiative aligns with the Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda’s vision of equipping the youth of the state with world-class technical expertise.
During the visit, both sides engaged in positive discussions on joint training programmes, student exchanges, technical research collaboration, and various aspects of future partnerships. The Italian delegation assured that they would work closely with Polytechnic Umri in the future to support students in building a bright and successful future.
The program was formally inaugurated by Coordinator and Head of Department, Sh. Kanwal Sachdeva, while HOD, Sh. Vijay Singh provided detailed insights into technical education, Haryana’s achievements, and progressive policies. Principal, Smt. Rachna Gupta thanked all guests and honored them with mementos.
The programme concluded with a commitment to mutual cooperation and strengthening long-term academic relations.
